DrMartens shoe making having a reason that is, in 1945 DrMartens has been injured by an small accident near munich which is a place in Germany, so he decided to prepare a footware which can be helpfull to him in walking during the healing process then he designed a shoe with rubber tyres which can be an air cushioned sole, after that he showed his prepared shoes to his friend Dr.Herbert Frunk who is a engineer and they both have decided to produce shoes which has solved the doctors problem also started a company in that place.

After that in 1959 they have decided to go with a company to distibute and produce in other parts of the world, at that time many manufacturers refused to go with the air cushioned sole because they dont have faith on that sole. At last a comany from London by name R.Griggs Group has came forward to go with an idea of DrMarten and his friend. With this they have produced a boot on 1960 they named them as 1460(1-4-1960) as it has been prepared on april first with cherry red eight-eyelet, then they have changed the name as airware for selling better in England.
